Dr. Reimund Schwarze gave talks at CEEP

  At 14:00 on June 26, 2018, Reimund Schwarze, Professor of the Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research-UFZ,Leipzig,Germany, was invited to visit CEEP and gave a talk entitled “Free Trade and the Environment - A Topical Controversy”. The report was hosted by Prof. Ke Wang, many teachers and students attended the report.

 

  Prof. Dr. Reimund Schwarze is head of climate economics of the Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research-UFZ,Leipzig,Germany and the coordinating lead author of the Chapter “Economics,Finance,and the Role of the Private Sector” in the upcoming 2nd Assessment Report Climate Change in Cities (ARC3.2) of the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN).
  In today's report, Prof. Reimund Schwarze mainly introduced the simple model of foreign trade between countries and the differences in the strict degree of environmental regulation between developed and developing countries, and discussed the dispute between free trade and environmental protection. In addition, the issue of carbon leakage from consumption tax or product tax was also introduced.
