At 15:00 on July 5, 2018, Junyi Zhang, Professor of the Hiroshima University, Japan, was invited to visit CEEP and gave a talk entitled “Human Choice Behavior Modeling”. The report was hosted by Prof. Bi-Ying Yu, many teachers and students attended the report.

Prof. Junyi Zhang is working in Hiroshima University, Japan. His research fields cover urban and regional planning, transportation planning and engineering, environment and energy policy, tourism policy, and human behavior research in both developed and developing countries. His research emphasizes interdisciplinary human behavior analysis and system approaches. He has published more than 700 papers, which include 389 refereed papers and 69 SCI/SSCI papers in journals such as Transportation Research Part A/B/C/D/E, Journal of Transport Geography, Transportation, Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Energy, Energy Policy, Energy, and Environment and Planning B. His research was awarded as Best Paper Awards for 8 times and Outstanding Paper Awards for 3 times. He has been serving as a reviewer for more 40 SCI/SSCI journals. Currently, he is one of five board members of IATBR (International Association on Travel Behaviour Research). He is also on the editorial board in more than 10 internationally well-recognized journals.
In today's report, Prof. Zhang introduced human choice behavior models, mainly developed by him and his students, including dynamic choice models, heterogeneity modeling, NPCL model, relative utility based models for representing context dependency, multilinear utility based models for representing inter-agent and inter-activity interactions, continuous choice modeling for timing choice, Scobit-based modeling and so on in the context of travel behavior, residential behavior, tourism behavior, time use, etc. He not only explained behavioral mechanisms of each model, but also discussed policy implications from behavior modeling analyses. After the report, Prof. Junyi Zhang took the picture with teachers and students at CEEP together.
